It comes down to two fundamental things: water and light. To have a thriving desk plant, you need both in the right quantities. Most of our plant varieties require light watering and bright, indirect light. Always allow your plant to drain thoroughly and don't re-water until the soil is sufficiently dry again.

Everyone wants a hardy plant! Its no fun to watch yours die within weeks of arrival. When our simple care tips are followed, most varieties can last many years. We've found the most durable desk plants to be ferns, jades, snakes, rubbers, and zz plants. Typically leafy green plants will outlive flowering varieties. Fun fact: The oldest known houseplant can be found at Kew Gardens in London. They say it arrived in 1775!
